BFC Vs OFC Bambolim , Goa

The one person who is always bound to make mistake for some and bring glory to others is undoubtedly the referee.

Background:

Odisha FC has gone goalless in four of its five games this ISL, while Bengaluru FC drew a goalless draw only against Hyderabad FC. The two clubs squaring off at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim.

On the other hand Santosh, the Referee today has overseen 3 matches and shown 8 Yellow cards and 1 penalty in total. Many of the cases he has even stopped giving advantage rules in name of giving a foul and a card which is something bewildering!!!

The Battle on the ground:

On the very 1st minute, BFC won a corner which was saved by Arsgdeep Singh...There goes a saying Morning shows the day! Is it the writing on the wall?
On the 9th Minute, Mauricio finds the back of the net with his superb brilliance but was ruled offside. And the TV replays clearly shows it was not!!! What a Horrible Referring!!!

On the 24th Minute, Cleiton brings down Jacob for the second time in the span of two minuted apart!!! Santosh caught napping with his cards kept safely placed in his Pocket.

On the 24th Minute, Sunil Chetri goes down inside the box after being hold-up by Sarangi...No penalty given !!! what's happening ???

30th Minute, Eric Partalu receives the first yellow card of the match after bringing down Mauricio on the Half-way line. A card for the team.

On the 38th Minute, Sunil strikes wonder from the left-footed measured cross of Khabra! What a header!

On 42nd Minute, Mauricio played through and shot the bar...but this time again called Off-Side and rightly so.

HALF TIME BFC : OFC 1:0

On the 49th Minute, Ashique was tipped off by Jerry and his ankle clipped Ashique on the face...On a closer look, Ashique had a knock on his right eye and it was swollen! Ashique has to be taken to the hospital immediately, Our prayers are with him.

On the 71st Minute, Steven Taylor finds the goal with a wonderful set-piece from Jerry. what a goal.

79th Minute, Jason sets up for Cleiton and he gets Bengaluru the much-awaited goal.

On the 90+2' Minute, Khabra fouls Sarangi and get booked for a Yellow.

Ultimately ISL has got an influx of Good Foreign players, almost all the teams have foreign Coach /Managers / Physio, but the lack of good refereeing is marring the beautiful game, it is not only spoiling the game but also portraying a bad name to the nation's Football scenario. Either there should be some technological help needed to assist the referees, and the Green-Dress holders should also be upskilled at the same time. Or else we need all foreign referees to start officiating these matches soon, as SIMPLY we cannot trust most of these bunch who are officiating now!!!
