As the ISL is almost moving to finalize the top 4 contenders of the league, we thought of presenting you with the topmost performing Indian players who should form-up the current national team. We assure you, this line-up is based on the current form and not on any other criteria, like past performance or age or how long they are part of National squad. But based on statistics and pure performance we give you the best Indian players of the lot.
And we will show you how & why they are selected. We know there are some very big names in the likes of Sunil Chetri or recent performance glimpses of Liston Colaso or Sahal Abdul Samad is left over in the starting XI and there can be a lot of arguments on these players but the players we have chosen are the best of the lot in the 4-4-2 formation the most preferred formation for most of the coaches. And the more you argue on the players for a particular or the whole squad it will be much better for the Indian Football team indeed and we look forward to that. It is really a shame for a country of Billion of people still lagging the in the ranks of FIFA.
Goalkeeper: We can almost agree that Amrinder is in the best of the lot of current Squad. and there should not be not many arguments on this. And like ISL teams if we have to chose a squad where there should be 4 Goalkeepers, then we will choose Gurpreet, Debjit & Arindam on the list.
Leftback, Rightback: There should not be any doubts about these also. If we look at the performance in this ISL these are 2 players who have played consistently with the team in every match and the only two Man in the position they play who according to the overall performance of ISL table comes within the Top 20 payers. And their rating is 7.39 and 7.34 itself says huge about their performance. There are some heavy contenders like Rahul beke, Pritam Kotal also comes close contenders but the ones chosen by us are the absolute winners in these positions.
Centreback: Sandesh & Raju are the only 2 Indian players whose performance is around 7 in this ISL in the Centre Back position. Many would raise their voices against the inclusion of Raju Gaikwad. And believe us, you cannot name a single player whose inclusion into the side has changed the team like Raju has changed. It seems he is not only good in his performance but also gives over-all solidarity in the defence. Chinglang Sana is another player who can easily replace Raju in this position, but Raju have an extra advantage of his long-thorws which are almost like getting corner in opponent half which gives him an extra edge.
Midfield: The most important two positions in the mid-strata, and in this position inclusion of Rowlin in absolute without almost without any hesitation. We have kept Apuia in the another instrumental role in this scenario. Also anyone can argue of inclusion of Yasir or Sahal Abdul Samad or even Rainier in this position but Apuia will the most appropriate choice is because of two things. Sahal has a tendency of not being a team-plaer and tries to shot the ball even when he could have passed the ball to a fellow teammate who has been in a better position to score goal. Rainer is being second choice of pure statistics, Apuia is haveing better accuracy of passing the ball both in opponent half and in over all.
Choice of Vipin Singh is chosen over others because of not only his continuous dribbles and delay crosses from one side but also on his additional effort in defense when the team needs the same, Liston or Narzary could have been good choices too but the consistency what Vipin has shown is not there with these players and hence the ultimate choice.
On the other side, we have chosen Jerry is simply because of statistics, the number of crosses delivered by him is by far the highest more than at least 10 than any player ...which seeks volume & shows why he is being chosen.
Forward: Manvir & Ishan Panditia are chosen purely on the chances they got and the number of conversions they had. We know we have left out Sunil Chetri which is huge but when the statistics come to a number of chances got and conversion Sunil is lacking in those numbers, and what we said is in this post we will show only the players who are best according to statistics, and not based on anything else. Sunil and many others which we have not given chances in the list are not the best in the current positions purely based on statistics and nothing else.
