ISL ::: Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa

·       The trouble with referees is that they know the rules, but they don't know the game. ...Goes the famous saying and often comes out true because the referee is supposed to know the rules and play them according to the FIFA rules, but the application of the rule is the problem.

Background:::

As it is always the match between the Bengaluru FC & KBFC had always been a crowd seller for the right reasons. Whatever might be the form of these two teams, they seem to gear-up their game a notch to the next level while facing together.

The battle on the field:

From the very first minute, Bengaluru started playing the ball among themselves to find a penetrative zone in the midfield and tried establishing supremacy over there, much to the resistance of the Kerala Blasters  FC's resistance. On the 7th minute Sunil Chetri brings down Prashanth on the right flag end of their defence. Perira shoots & swing the ball in but Bengaluru breaks the counter quite easily.

On the 17th Min, Garry Hooper shows his class, breaking down the opposition attack of the corner and passed on Rahul KP, who shots a powerful shot which went passed Gurwinder. Awesome shot and Goal by Rahul.

29th minute and who would have thought that the long-goal-kick from Gurwinder would have ultimately resulted in a Goal? Good chance was taken by Cleiton but was a comedy of error from the KBFC defense.

The Ref showed his first Card on 38th minute to Juanan for bringing down Hooper, and was a rightful decision, but was a needless foul by Juanan.

Just on the verge of the Hal-time 45+2' minute Ashiquie was booked for a late challenge on Jordon Murray, and was a wise decision.

HALF TIME 1:1 & The Show seems to be a cracker of a game.

On the 47th minute, Bakary brought down Kristian in the penalty box & was given a penalty by the ref. Be it outside penalty-box a mere foul would have been enough, but Bakary seems to forget he is in the penalty area. Sunil takes the Panenka, but Albino saved it...WOW...was a spur of brilliance from both the Sunil & Albino.

 But the Blues came strongly on 52nd & 53rd minute to score 2 goals continuously, and Kerala defence looks in shambles, of not even a clue on what to do? The Yellow defence needs to straighten up quickly or the Blues can take the whole stride today it seems.

On 55th Lalruatthara goes into the book for a Yello, and it seems to be coming from frustration.

 On the 61st Minute, Kerala got another one, scoring their second through Jordon Murray. Now it is that Jordon was in offside position. If the Goal would have been awarded to Vincent Gomez who was the original header it would have been a sure goal. But the goal was given and the mess was created by the Official. Is it going to start another wonderful comeback for the yellow fans to remember, only time will tell.

Sunil Chetri seems to be proving his worth on the field and showed his class on the 65th minute while putting the header into Kerala goal and almost securing safe breathing space to the Bule Fans.

On 89th minute Khabra got the Yellow card ...was a justified one.

On 90+2' min Sandeep Singh goes into the book, the challenge was unnecessary, and these bookings pile-up and give little option to team managers in the long league.

 On the 90+4' minute, Wungngayam goes again for the Yellow card booking.

 Without some major faults, this match also seems to be officiated properly. If only it spreads to the other matches also.
