If you have been a follower of Indian Football you should have seen these two clubs play each other. In I-League, Federation Cup, Super League and rivalry between these two teams also have been astonishing and had given us some pretty great moments of Indian Football. After the born of ISL though BFC has shifted from I-league and has started playing in the ISL, nut the legacy club continued its journey is I-league. And it was rightly said by Mr Jindal, from the management of BDC that hey welcome the inclusion of East Bengal in ISL and look forward to the journey together. Undoubtedly a nice Gesture from the BFC Management. But when it comes to supporting The West Block Blues always thought they are better than any other team in India, unless & Only unless the face the East Bengal Fans. Even when their current custodian Gurpreet who played at East Bengal and now for a long-time is an integral part of the BFC, uttered, when it comes to passion, the East Bengal Fans really matter, their shout in their Home Ground Saltlake stadium which have a capacity crowd of 75 Thousand always plays at the 12th Man of the squad, and they will cry with you or laugh with you but will not leave the passion for the club...Undoubtedly nice things to hear only if you are an EastBengalian...
On the very onset, both the teams are standing like this: We will compare them on the attack, Defence & distribution matrix to understand how they are doing right now...
While in attack the chart looks like this...
So though BFC has scored more Goals than SCEB, it is clear they almost have the same shooting accuracy and astonishingly almost the same conversion rate. Moreover, this is surprising keeping in Mind that SCEB hasn’t scored a single goal in their first 4 games. So it can be safely said that SCEB has tremendously improved themselves in the last 5 games to almost matching up a team which started their campaign with 2-2 Draw.
While on Defence the Chart looks like this...
And to keep in mind that SCEB is the 3rd highest team of the tournament when it comes to the tally of goals conceded. But if you see the number of tackles won success rate, Duels won succession rate and the number of Shots on Goal faced, while compared to BFC again there is nothing but surprise because defensively it seems SCEB is doing well in those departments than BFC.
& Overall the distribution comparison between the two teams are like this
While looked at the distribution while they both played the same number of matches SCEB lacks by almost 200 passes from BFC, but on the success matrix of dribbles, they are higher and in case of passing accuracy they are almost as same as BFC. Isn't quite astonishing data when you are comparing with BFC, a team who is almost consistent for almost 4 years and SCEB who haven't completed 3 months even when they didn't know who are the players going to play for SCEB?
Now something which everyone will be surprised...Eric Partalu , most probably the most chased defender for every team, when compared with Scot Nevile whom the SCEB fans don't like at all...let us check their statistics.
ERIC PARTALU SCOT NEVIL
From winning tackles to passing accuracy to successful dribbles in every case Nevil statistically seems much better than Partalu. Now Now Now...One thing which Nevil could not match up to is the scoring skill, & though we often don't expect that from the Main defender of your team but Partalu has that ability & has scored a Goal for Bengaluru which Nevil is yet to do. But apart from that in all other aspects, Nevil seems better doing in the field.
Now lets us have a look at a forward position player, and we are choosing Cleiton Silva, a typical striker against Jacques Maghoma, a winger striker in this case.
Cleiton Silva Jacquous Maghoma
Though we expect that when you compare a winger with a striker the winger would have better success rate on passing, key passes and others but the striker should be way ahead of the winger, but this stat will prove you wrong. And surprisingly Maghoma seems to be doing a lot of defending also for their team.
And as SC East Bengal was the last team to start building their team, and BFC has been veteran in that we compare 2 known names in the Indian circuit to understand how they are doing in this ISL, Udanta Singh, and Mohammed Rafique.Lets' check
Udanta Rafique
Without Scoring the goal we didn't find any major statistical difference between Udanta & Rafique. And we should remember it is said Rafique has left his prime and Udanata is still our Indian star player to be said the least.
Moreover, BFC has their Last 3 games defeated & in the consequence of those the Coach Carlos Quadrot has been parted off, and currently, they will continue with their Asst coach who is also with the team since ages. So we should not think that there will be much effect on the coach changes on BFC. The only thing which might happen is they can be boosted to show what they are made-up off & can show their true colour and return back to being BFC boys soon again.
On the other Hand, SC East Bengal has their first win in their last match and though according to some unofficial sources we are hearing that due to Red Card Coach Fowler will not be part of the side bench yesterday but we aren't very sure on that. But once a team like SC East Bengal starts wining they will not be a very easy team to beat and they will try to be on their path of victory to carry on.
And as a Football Lover, we will wait for another cracker of a match in true sense where the evening might be Bright ... If we don't say anything on this man this post is not full, and truly after the beautiful goal of Bright we will see how BFC defence marks him and how the Indian referees can protect him from wrongfully foul lays, though at the games are going we can very rarely put our confidence on the Official badges ...And if they can't do their basic duty whatever ISL or any tournament IFA or FSDL may organize but will never be able to push Indian Football an iota, but all their efforts will be in Vain.
