Jamshedpur FC Vs Kerala Blasters FC

While the Red Miners have just slipped off from their the top 4 positions, Kerala Balseters also slipped a little back to the 10th position of the table. So if anyone thinks that the match will be an easy win for Jamshedpur FC they would be a huge mistake. Because of 2 reasons, Kerala Blasters are one of the costliest team in this ISL, and you don’t cost unless you are worth it. And secondly, Kerala Blasters have Garry Hooper who was not being brought up in the first playing XI, and he has played in the last match for the Blasters, and he scored a goal too. And when a prolific scorer like Gary Hooper gets into shape & gets goals, he can make a way for goals from the most unknown places.

Now let us start the statistical analysis of how the two teams are doing in this ISL.So, as usual, we will start by the attack, then Defence & then distribution to understand how the teams are doing.

Jamshedpur FC       ATTACK       Kerala Blasters FC

While analyzing the attacking scenario both the teams almost looks the same, while Owen has been showcasing that his team likes to play no-nonsense football, and has stopped the progress of ATK, Mumbai City of the likes but lost to FC Goa. But in that match also one of the genuine goals of Jamshedpur has been cancelled due to the callousness of the referee and the result would have been completely different if the goal was given.

                                     DEFENCE

Now, this picture will tell you, while Kerala Blasters have been in the bottom part of the points table. At the topmost the Goal conceded rate...where Kibu Vikuna’s team is lagging hugely. They might have played some beautiful games, but that does not give you points. And more importantly, when you have one of the most expensive players at your helm, you not only play the beautiful game but assure that you get those points also. We have seen Kibu with different formations to shape up the First XI but when it looked settled they started loosing and again that was changed. This shows either the Lack of confidence of the coach or not being able to manage the players with proper expectation. We are not sure what is the case and surely we are not going to speculate also on these but there is something definitely wrong on how things are going on. And if this debacle continues Kibu might not be at the whole length of ISL also.

                             DISTRIBUTION

And when looked at this part it not only strengthens what we said just earlier but also signifies that the players are not being able to put their combined strength into the effective result of the play. Otherwise, how can you explain that a team which has played almost 800 more passes than the teams they are going to compete but has conceded 8 more goals!

Now let us take examples of individual players to understand a little more detail:

From the attacking line-up, we are picking up Valskis and comparing with Murray, the current top scorer of both teams.

Valskis                                              Murray

Clearly, we can see that Valskis is way ahead of Murray in every part without the passing accuracy and you must remember we don’t want the best passer in the striking line-up but the best shooter of the team. And Valskis the Golden Boot winner of last year is doing his job terrifically and should have one more number as the Goals scored beside his name.

On the front of midfielders, Kerala Blasters have a strong-hold of Indian players and they are mixing well with Vincente Gomez to build-up, make the game go-ahead but the finish & the blocking-up both of these are lacking in the mid-field for Kerala Blaster. They have Sahal, Rohit Kumar, Rahul, Jeakson, Prasanth who are working in tandem to give them a better game. But the blocking has to be much better from the mid-field only so that their defence gets less pressurized.

In the case of Jamshedpur FC, they have a huge advantage in the name of Aitor Monroy and what a time he is having on the field. He is actually controlling the entire Jamshedpur team from attack to defence & if you see any match of Jamshedpur you will not find any grass on the field which is not touched by this man.

While looking at the defence Jamshedpur is looking solid good. Any team in this ISL would love to have Peter Hartley & Stephen Eze in their team and they are guiding the defence to be rock solid. And what more Stephen even score goals & is currently the 2nd highest goal-getter for Jamshedpur with 3 Goals in his credit.

In this very department without Nishu Kumar whatever less can be said about the Kerala defence is better. It seems that the two Central defenders is looking as they have lost confidence in themselves, and when that happens your team suffers and that is what happening with Kerala.

When the strikers and the Central defenders are not working properly a team cannot function well & that is what is happening with Kerala Blasters. It is up to the coach how to revamp the confidence boosted up or make them working but that is not happening with Kibu’s team. And unless that is happening you cannot see some good changes. We hope that Kibu understands the root cause of the problem and bring back his team to the wining days.

On the other hand, Jamshedpur is very well oiled machinery when looked at Defenceively or in the attack, and the same is evident from the result. We will be surprised if we don’t see Jamshedpur FC very high at the table soon.
