What A January !!! @ Mumbai City FC

So by the end of January let us review at how things have looked in January for table toppers.

In this month Mumbai has 7 matches, and they faced KBFC, BFC, ATKMB, HFC, SCEB, CFC & NEUFC.

And the results were :

Opponent TeamResultMargin
KBFCWIN2-0
BFCWIN3-1
ATKMBWIN1-0
HFCDRAW0-0
SCEBWIN1-0
CFCDRAW1-1
NEUFCLOSS1-2

They accumulated a total of 14 points to their tally and have 30 points now. Moreover, they have a put a record of 13 unbeaten knocks record which will a very impressive one and will be a tough task to be broken by anybody else to say at the very least. But if you look at the table you no doubt but wonder has the team lost its Midas touch? If you see the last 4 games you will found only 1 win, and that also after the match even the coach Sergio Lopera said about the match that they were lucky to be escaped with a win. and even the opponent SCEB is lagging at the fag end of the table they literally toyed with the Mumbai team in the last 45 minutes of the match, and it was looked like Mumbai never looked to be in control of the game.

We certainly don't want that & moreover, the stats are still in favour of the Mumbai Club. They have scored the highest number of goals in this ISL. and in 14 matches they scored 20 goals. Also, they have the most number of clean sheet from this season, they have 8 clean sheets. While looking upon the number of successful passes they are 2nd only to FC Goa, they have 5269 passes in total.

Points to be Proud: The Indian brigade is performing well enough for them. Mumbai is the only tea who had played an all Indian defence even sacrificing Muratada Fall the tall custodian who even scores goals, can say about the depth of the brigade to be very sure.

Point to Look Deeply: The temperament of Ahmed Jahu, and the fitness of Hugo Boumous. Jahu has been instrumental in the success of Mumbai City, but in this season he has seen losing his tempers pretty often and that might cost them heavily. Also, the fitness issue of Jahu is a matter of concern as he is the main engine which pulls the entire Mumbai City FC team, so his fitness issue might be a headache for the entire team.

Moreover, they have pulled in Jackichand Singh form JFC in January transfer window, which will add more strength to the team as Bipin has been working single-handedly from one flank, the other flank looked deserted. Now with the inclusion of Jackicahnd Singh, they can have attacked & deadly crosses flying in from both the sides and when you have Ogbence & Adam la Fondre with the team, they can easily eye for Goals galore in each macth.

But in overall though they lost in the last match, it seems that might become a boon for the Mumbai City team, as they will not be burdened of carrying the extra pressure of being unbeaten in every match and can really go all-out for the win for the remaining matches.
